Before You Ride

Do I need to be experienced to join a tour?

You don't need to know a thing about New Orleans but you do need to know how to ride a bike. At times, the French Quarter can be busy and congested so a tour is not the time to learn bicycle riding. Our e-bikes and traditional bikes are easy and comfortable to ride, and all tours begin with a short orientation and safety check. As long as you have balance and bike riding experience, you'll be fine.

What should I wear?

Dress comfortably for the weather. Closed-toe shoes are required for safety, and lightweight clothing is best during warmer months. Helmets are provided and required for all e-bike riders.

What should I bring?

Bring sunscreen because the sun can sneak up on you here. While we have sunscreen for guests (and bottled water too), it's always best to use the lotion you prefer. Small bags or backpacks are fine; however, if you drop something unknowingly while out riding, you're not likely to find it so leave your valuables at your hotel.

Where do tours start?

All tours begin at our shop: 223 Dauphine St., New Orleans, one and a half blocks off Canal Street in the French Quarter. Coming from the direction of the Mississippi River, we're a block past Bourbon Street and are easy to reach by foot, streetcar, or rideshare. If driving here, park in the garage above the shop or the one directly across the street.

During Your Ride

How large are the tour groups?

We find that small groups are more personal and fun so we keep our tours typically limited to no more than 10 riders, giving our guests undivided attention and plenty of space on the road.

What happens if it rains?

We operate rain or shine, but we always put safety first. Ponchos are provided, and if conditions are severe, rescheduling is easy. We’re flexible because your experience matters.

Are the tours suitable for kids?

We welcome riders aged 13+ on our pedal tours and 16+ on e-bike tours. Younger riders are welcome on private or family group bookings — just contact us to plan a custom ride.

Policies & Logistics

What’s the cancellation policy?

Cancellations made 72 hours before the scheduled tour or rental receive a full refund. For greater flexibility, take advantage of our tour insurance. Alternately, we offer flexible rescheduling or a credit toward a future booking if you prefer.

Do you offer private tours?

Yes! Visit our Private & Group Tours page to learn more. We can accommodate everything from couples to corporate events.

Do you rent bikes without a tour?

Absolutely. Visit our Rentals section to choose between e-bikes and pedal bikes. Every rental includes a helmet, lock, and local route map.

Can you recommend other tours?

Yes — we personally vet every partner we recommend. Explore our Other Tours We Recommend page for curated experiences like swamp, plantation, and riverboat adventures.
