Bike Rental FAQs

Everything you need to know before renting a pedal bike or electric-assist bike from our French Quarter shop.

Bike Rental Questions

These answers cover the most common questions guests ask before renting a pedal bike or electric-assist bike from Buzz NOLA in the French Quarter.

Do I need a reservation for a bike rental?

Walk-ins are welcome, but availability is first-come, first-served. For e-bikes and busy weekends or holidays, reserving online is the best way to lock in your ride.

Where do I pick up and return the rental?

Pick up and drop off at 223 Dauphine St, New Orleans, in the French Quarter, one and a half blocks off Canal Street. Please return before the posted closing time unless other arrangements are made.

Where can I park when picking up my rental?

If driving here, parking is available in the garage above the shop or directly across the street.

If the shop is closed, should I lock the bike outside and leave it unattended?

Leaving a bike unattended in any major city is risky and is not recommended. Only do this if you made arrangements with staff first and accept full responsibility if vandalism or theft occurs before the bike can be retrieved.

What types of bikes can I rent?

Buzz NOLA offers traditional pedal bikes and electric-assist e-bikes. Choose the bike type that best fits your route, pace, comfort level, and weather conditions.

What is included with my rental?

Every rental includes a helmet, lock, and either a local route map or detailed routing instructions and tips as to where to ride.

What do I need to bring?

Bring a valid government-issued ID and a credit card. Dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes if possible.

Is there an age requirement?

Riders under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at pickup. All riders should be comfortable handling a bicycle in city conditions.

What if I do not know how to ride a bicycle?

Riders should already know how to balance and ride safely. The narrow and busy streets of the French Quarter are not suitable for learning how to ride a bike.

What if the forecast calls for rain?

New Orleans weather can change quickly. Light rain is common, and ponchos are available. For severe weather or lightning, contact Buzz NOLA to discuss delay or rescheduling options.

Can I keep the bike overnight?

Overnight rentals may be available by request. Ask during pickup, and staff will review secure storage and safety best practices.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations made at least 72 hours before your rental are fully refunded. Within 72 hours, you may reschedule or receive credit toward a future ride. Refunds within that window require optional cancellation insurance.

How do I book a rental?

Reserve online at the Buzz NOLA FareHarbor booking page or stop by during business hours. For groups or multi-day rentals, contact the shop in advance so inventory can be planned.

What if I get a flat or need help during my ride?

Call the shop during business hours and staff will advise next steps. They can also explain how to secure the bike safely while you wait if needed.

Ready to reserve?

Rentals can sell out on busy weekends, holidays, and during major New Orleans events. If you know your preferred day and time, reserve your bike in advance.
