Guided Tour Questions

These answers cover the most common questions guests ask before joining a Buzz NOLA guided bike tour in New Orleans.

Should I choose a pedal bike tour or an e-bike tour?

Pick a pedal tour if you enjoy a relaxed, traditional ride and want light exercise at an easy pace. Choose an e-bike tour if you prefer extra boost for headwinds, summer heat, or longer routes. E-bike tours are also helpful for mixed-ability groups because everyone can keep a similar pace.

Where do tours meet and finish?

All tours meet and end at 223 Dauphine St, New Orleans, LA 70112 in the French Quarter, about one and a half blocks off Canal Street. Look for RideTHISbike and Buzz NOLA signage.

How early should I arrive for my tour?

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled departure. This allows time for check-in, helmet fitting, bike sizing, and a quick safety briefing so the tour can leave on time.

How fit do I need to be and what is the pace like?

Tours are designed for casual riders. New Orleans is flat, and guides keep a comfortable, conversational pace with frequent stops for stories and photos.

Is there an age or height requirement?

Riders must be able to confidently ride a bicycle. For e-bike tours, riders should generally be at least 16 years old and tall enough to safely fit the bike. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at check-in. Very young children can only be accommodated through a private tour arrangement.

What is included with the tour?

A properly sized pedal bike or e-bike, depending on your tour, is included along with a helmet, bottled water, poncho, and a small-group guided experience with local stories and photo stops.

What should I wear or bring?

Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes if possible. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and your smartphone or camera. Light layers can help in changing conditions.

Where can I park when arriving for my tour?

If driving here, parking is available in the garage above the shop or directly across the street.

What happens if it rains or storms?

Buzz NOLA rides in light rain. If severe weather or lightning creates unsafe conditions, the tour may be delayed, modified, or rescheduled for safety.

What if I am running late?

Please call the shop if you are delayed. Tours depart on time to respect all guests. Late arrivals may miss the tour and be treated as a no-show according to the booking policy.

Can I switch from a pedal tour to an e-bike tour or vice versa at check-in?

Buzz NOLA runs tours either as pedal bike tours or pedal-assist e-bike tours so guests do not get spread out. The best way to get the tour type you want is to book that exact tour in advance. If you want to switch, staff will try to accommodate you if space is available. Switching from an e-bike tour to a pedal bike tour does not qualify for a refund.

How big are the groups?

Groups are kept small, generally 10 or fewer guests, so everyone can hear the guide and ride safely. Larger groups may be better suited for a private tour.

Do you offer private and custom tours?

Yes. Private and custom tours are available for families, corporate groups, celebrations, and guests who want a route or pace tailored to their needs.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations made at least 72 hours before your tour are fully refunded. Closer to the date, you can reschedule or receive credit toward a future ride. The only way to receive a refund within the 72-hour window is if you purchased optional cancellation insurance.

Ready to ride with a guide?

Tour times can fill up quickly. If you already know when you want to ride, book your bike tour in advance.
