A private premium arrival into New Orleans
New Orleans is a city defined by water, and this private experience lets you enter it the way few visitors ever do.
Between the Waters begins in Kenner (home to New Orleans Louis Armstrong International Airport) and follows a remarkable route toward the French Quarter, tracing the lakefront, Bayou St. John, and the historic corridor that once linked these waterways to old New Orleans. Along the way, our guests experience the landscapes that shaped the city’s movement, culture, and identity while completely avoiding the bumper to bumper traffic which greets many modern visitors on the I-10.
While you ride, we transport your luggage separately to our shop at 223 Dauphine Street in the French Quarter, where it can be securely stored until you are ready to check in later in the day.
This is a private premium experience for one or two guests only, built for travelers who want something memorable, intimate, and distinctly New Orleans from the very beginning of their trip.
A better use of arrival day
A private guided e-bike arrival from Kenner to the French Quarter, shaped by the waterways and historic corridor that define New Orleans. Includes luggage transport, same-day storage, premium bikes, bottled water, helmets, and light pre-packaged snacks before departure.
A route shaped by water, movement, and music
Most visitors enter New Orleans without ever understanding how deeply the city is shaped by water. This experience reveals that story firsthand.
You begin along the edge of Lake Pontchartrain, part of the vast estuarine world connected to the Gulf. From there, the route moves toward Bayou St. John, one of the city’s oldest natural access corridors. The final stretch follows the historic path into old New Orleans, a route that evolved over time from hand-dug towpath canal to the primary Southern Railway corridor before becoming part of the city’s modern greenway network.
This former Southern Railway corridor along today's Basin Street passed beside Storyville, the infamous district where early jazz took shape in clubs, dance halls, and brothels. Louis Armstrong began playing in the world that grew out of this environment, where music, vice, travel, and nightlife were tightly intertwined. When passenger trains approached the old terminal along this corridor, they passed near Storyville’s notorious houses, where women were said to step onto the balconies to greet male visitors arriving by rail. Today, that layered history still echoes nearby (evidence of it can even be explored at the Storyville Museum just two blocks from our shop).
This is what makes the experience more than a transfer and more than a standard tour. It is an arrival along a key geographical and cultural corridor that shaped New Orleans musical legacy.
Turn arrival day into part of the vacation, not a waiting period between luggage and check-in.
